Sound Healing is clean, non-invasive, powerful, ancient, and accessible to everyone. Connie uses over 50 instruments- Tibetan and crystal singing bowls, gong, drums, chimes and percussion elements.
Sound healing facilitates shifts in our brainwave state by using entrainment. Entrainment synchronizes our fluctuating brainwaves by providing a stable frequency which the brainwave can attune to. By using rhythm and frequency, we can entrain our brainwaves and it then becomes possible to down-shift our normal beta state (normal waking consciousness) to alpha (relaxed consciousness), and even reach theta (meditative state) and delta (sleep; where internal healing can occur). The effect is incredibly deep relaxation, mental clarity, emotional balance and a feeling of being “in synch.” Restful sleep follows, that night, and the effects last 3 days or longer.
This same concept is utilized in meditation by regulating the breath, but with sound it’s the frequency that is the agent which influences the shift. In Sound Healing, the entrainment happens not just in the brain waves, but in all the cells and tissues of the body. As such, it is a powerful tool to disperse inflammation in injured, fatigued or diseased tissue. It is incredibly powerful immediately after injury or surgery. Connie has worked in the hospital, hospice and neonatal environments, with consistent, positive outcomes. Clients feel deep emotional balance and reduction of negative emotions, as well as reduction or elimination of pain.
Why does it work? As human beings, we are conductive, vibrating energy forms. As we are mostly water, we are excellent conductors for sound. When bathed in resonant sound, different areas & systems of the body respond as the waveform travels through the body to the cellular level, creating alignment. Resonant tones (balanced Sine waves, in phase) create sacred geometric patterns in fluids and tissues. This atomic arrangement creates the physical form for healing to follow- and creates a pathway for toxins, inflammatory compounds and wastes to be released from the area.
Using gongs, crystal and Tibetan bowls, voice, drums, shakers and chimes, Connie will take you on a sound journey that will relax and de-stress you and bring your whole being back into a state of harmony on all levels; physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. This is a deep sonic experience that can include guided meditation, or be added to bodywork. During bodywork, bowls are placed on and around the body, and under the table. Specific protocols can be used: Chakra Cleanse, Shamanic Cleanse or Physical Integration sessions.
Connie became a sound healer in 2013, when she began incorporating Tibetan singing bowls in her yoga & meditation teaching, and her bodywork sessions. She is adept at seamlessly integrating various sound tools into the session, without breaking flow. The result is a true feeling of being transported into higher realms, deeper levels of healing, and a sense of alignment and integration.
Private and Public sessions are offered continually. No experience is required, and this modality only supports other treatments you may be involved in- there is no conflict with Western medical approaches. Connie offers sound healing in every yoga & meditation class she teaches. (The Center Yoga, Three Notch’d Brewery, High Country Yoga Boone, NC, Boone Conscious Dance, New River Yoga Fayetteville, WV) Private group events in your home create powerful healing for the family, colleagues or friends.
